Structural Beam Tests

AISC_TUB:

This test checks the AISC code on tubes.

BEAM_REFINE:

This test shows how the truncation error due to lumping the buoyancy decreases with increasing number of beams.

BEA_FAT:

This test checks SN curves and SCFs for beam fatigue.

BEA_WT:

This test checks the weights of stiffeners added to beams.

BEATEST:

This test is a square of beams enclosing a plate.

BMOTST:

This is a test of beam moment and shear values.

CANTEST:

As the name implies, this is a single element, a cantilever beam.

CLS_DOT:

This test checks the CL_DOT_RESIZE command.

DNV_CYL:

This is a collection of simple beams checked with the DNV Cylinder check.

EXPLOD:

This test exports applied loads.

J_NTUBE:

This test, and the next two check joint post-processing. This particular test is a simple joint.

J_REST:

This test checks joint classification of a joint which has a a non tubular element connected to it.

J_RING:

This test checks the uses of rings on joint crushing.

OFFTEST1:

Three tests are provided which show the use of offsets. This test contains local z offsets at both ends of a single beam.

OFFTEST2:

This test is the same as OFFTEST1, except that the offsets are global.

OFFTEST3:

This example shows offsets being used on a simple frame.

PRSTST:

This test shows the operation of hydrostatic pressure and the use of temperature in generating load cases.

PUNCH_21:

This test checks the "new" punching shear computation in the second supliment of the 21st edition of RP2A.

REF_TST:

This test using the -REFERENCE option on a class command.

RESTEST:

This is a simple test of the input and reporting of restraints.

SCF_BEAM:

This test checks the SCFs in a beam.

SCF_CONE:

This test checks the SCFs in a cone section.

SCF_INLINE:

This test checks the SCFs in two adjacent tubular beams.

SCF_MESS:

This test checks that the nt_fatigue beam fatigue works properly.

SCF_DEFAULT:

This test checks that SCFs from &DEFAULT work properly.

SCF_RING:

This test checks the reduction of joint SCFs due to rings.

SEG:

This test checks the operation of non-prismatic beams.

SHR_CEN:

This test the rotation of an angle subjected to bending.

SN_TUBE:

This test assignment of SN curves to tubes.

SP_PLATE:

This test combines a set of plates into a "SP_BEAM". The only loads here are pressure.

SP_PSID:

This test combines a set of plates into a "SP_BEAM". Here, the beam is turned sideways so that there is shear and bending in addition to pressure and axial load.

SP_TRUS:

This test combines a set of beams into a single "SP_BEAM".

STPTST:

This is a test of generating a "static" load from a wave with the LCASE command.

T_TEST:

This is a test using the -REFLECT option on a class definition command.

WARP:

This is a test of the normal stresses produced by torsion in a W shape.

XBRAC:

The tests XBRAC1, XBRAC2 and XBRAC3 test program's capability to define buckling length of an element based on the tension-compression behavior of another element.
